Upgrades to our most robust knee guards include a laser-perforated TPU skid plate for added durability and breathability, plus a tension band over the calf that locks the pads in place during hard efforts. 71% polyamide, 15% elastane, 8% Cordura, 3% polyester, 3% polyurethane
USE SIMPLE DETERGENTS WITH NO ADDITIVES Never use detergents with fabric softeners, perfumes or any additive type product. The general rule of thumb is the simpler the better. Many detergents with additives leave "surfactants" behind on a fabric's fibers that inhibit the technical performance. Typically the best detergents to use will have "Clear" or "Free" in their names. Don't pour the detergent directly onto the clothing, put it in the washer first, when you start the water. If something is not functionally working, but is not dirty, try rinsing it twice in warm to hot water. This will help get rid of the harmful surfactants. READ THE CONTENT CARE LABEL: On the inside of your garment, or on the hangcard, there are instructions for the care of that individual piece. On garments this will be on a side seam or back seam label. Follow those directions. On finer fabrics, use a "Gentle" cycle. Close all zippers, attach "hook and loop" closures on gloves YOU CAN USE THE DRYER, CAREFULLY: If you use a dryer be sure to use a lower / warm heat setting (Do NOT use a commercial dryer or a "Hot" setting). This will often restore the fabric and help the water and wind repellent qualities. If in doubt, hang the clothing to dry.

Great lightweight pads
"Most comfortable pads I own I barely even notice I’m wearing them. Sort of just feels like I’m wearing a knee brace. It will still get sweaty like any other pad but they don’t slip and slide as I’m pedaling or descending. Haven’t spill tested them yet but I believe when the time comes I’ll be thankful to have them on. If you’re a downhill/enduro type rider you may want to look for heavier duty protection. I primarily ride dirt jumps/trail rides so for me they are perfect!"

"I can't speak to how they perform when you crash yet. . . but these were very comfortable under hiking pants I wear to ride. The size guide was a little hard to follow. I was S in the thigh and L/XL in the calf. I went with S so I wouldn't risk them sliding down and it worked out well."
Great pads for trail use, could use some improvements in future.
"The elevate pads are super comfortable and the padding material conforms nicely while pedaling so there is no chafing. The padding is light and could use better coverage extending around the sides of the knee for more aggressive riding. Honestly I’d love it if they used this to replace the Summit series pads and then built a slightly more robust version for enduro use. Despite those small quibbles, these are very comfortable and they fit under riding pants well. The silicone grippers seem to hold the pads in place well. Sizing is accurate based on the chart measurements, although I think I could have sized down to a Medium and still had good fit that might stay put better as they wear/stretch. We will see."
back of knee pain
"I had the previous version of these pads and they served me well for a couple of years until a crash tore the material. I decided to replace them with this new version. They do take a bit of riding to wear in but so far this version is causing me issues at the back of my knee. There is a seam that runs back there and it is not as stretchy as the material. I'm finding it restricts movement and after some time feels like it is digging into the back of my knee. Maybe with a bit more time the seam will stretch out."
Not what I expected
"Mostly my fault though... Been supporting pearl since 95; so in my recent search for knee pads naturally I landed on their site and liked what I saw. Tried to find them at several LBS' and no one stocks them. Against better judgement and blinded by faith I ordered them sight unseen...I wish I could have handled them first. I should clarify; I started back on a 20" BMX riding concrete parks so these knee guards are not quite up to that task imo. I'm sure they're perfectly fine on single track downhill or even a BMX track some people might even be comfortable using them to ride pools, but me at 42yrs swears by turtle shells I went with triple 8. These are nice streamline pads, just not geared towards BMX freestyle go figure. I don't comment on purchases, but felt I must if only to alert pearl to an overlooked market. (BMX isn't even listed under "sport you wear pearl izumi gear.")"

"I was a little concerned about getting a M instead of a L size for these knee guards, but they fit comfortably but I have not worn them on the trail yet. I like the lightweight aspect of them and expect them not to interfere with my cycling."
