Your jersey should vanish: a sleek fit, fast-wicking fabric, a drop-tail for coverage, and low rear pockets you can hit without looking. Add a packable jacket or vest and you are ready for whatever the forecast does next.

Road Cycling FAQs

What do I need to start road cycling?

Start with shorts or bibs and a jersey, because fit and comfort matter most on early rides. Add gloves, eyewear, and road shoes as you ride more, then layer up with the Ride 365 system as the seasons change.

What is the difference between the PRO, Attack, Quest, and Sugar collections?

PRO is our elite race-level line with the most technical fabrics and closest fit. Attack takes fit cues from PRO for high-performance everyday riding. Quest is built for riders chasing memories as much as miles, with approachable comfort. Sugar is women-specific, with feminine cuts and flattering silhouettes.

Should I choose road shorts or bib shorts?

Bibs use shoulder straps instead of a waistband, which eases breathing and keeps the chamois locked in place on long rides. Shorts are quicker to pull on and cooler in warm weather. Both use the same in-house chamois designs, so comfort comes down to preference.

How should road cycling apparel fit?

Road apparel should feel compressive standing up and perfect once you are in the riding position. A jersey should lie flat without flapping, and shorts should feel supportive with no sag or pinch. If fabric wrinkles or the chamois shifts, size down.

What should I wear road cycling in cold weather?

Layer a wicking base layer, an insulating mid layer, and a wind- or water-shedding shell. Add thermal tights, full-finger gloves, and shoe covers to protect your extremities. Dress so you feel slightly cool at the start, since you will warm up within a few miles.

Do I need road-specific cycling shoes?

Road shoes use stiff soles and a three-bolt cleat pattern to maximize power transfer, which makes them more efficient than mountain or gravel shoes on pavement. If you also ride gravel or walk in your shoes, a two-bolt gravel shoe may suit you better.

Do I wear underwear under cycling shorts?

No. Cycling shorts and bibs are designed to be worn next to skin. The chamois handles moisture management and friction, and underwear seams create pressure points and chafing.
