New to road? We’ve got you. Women’s-specific essentials that disappear under pressure—supportive chamois, breathable layers, and a secure, no-flap fit—so your first miles feel smooth, fast, and honest. No fluff, just function.
Shorts or bibs? Your call. Shorts end at the waist; bibs use shoulder straps to ditch the waistband, ease breathing, and keep the chamois locked in. Our women’s bibs add a no-drama drop-tail for quick pit stops—same convenience, more comfort. The chamois—breathable, multi-density foam—smooths road buzz while compressive panels support muscles and fight chafe. Fit should be snug, not loose. And yes: wear them next to skin—no underwear.
Your jersey should disappear in motion—sleek fit, fast-wicking fabric, a drop-tail for coverage, and low rear pockets you can hit without looking. It’s also your signature: colors and graphics to mix with your socks and lid. Not into the classic look? Our performance tanks deliver the same function, less tradition.
Fit guide: Form-Fit for aero, slightly compressive, zero flap; Standard Fit for close-to-body without the squeeze; Relaxed for extra room to move.
Hands are one of three contact points—protect them. Go light padding to mute road buzz without dulling feel. Fingerless for heat. Full-finger for wind, wet, and cooler temps so you can still work the levers. Cold hands end rides; good gloves keep you shifting.
Power starts at your feet. A proper road shoe is stiff for clean power transfer, snug (not tight) with toe wiggle room, and a locked-in heel that doesn’t lift. Classic road soles (nylon or carbon) run sleek and efficient with 3-bolt cleats—fast on the bike, awkward on foot.
Not ready to commit? A gravel-friendly shoe is the one-quiver move: walkable tread, 2-bolt cleats, still plenty stiff, and it won’t kill your road flair.
Stay warm, stay (mostly) dry. Unless you live in rain, skip “waterproof” sweat traps and pack a light, DWR-treated wind jacket instead. Snug fit = less flap, more speed, and it stuffs into a jersey pocket when the sun shows. Riding in town? BioViz® accents pop in low light.
Stay in the comfort zone. A baselayer fits close under your bibs to pull sweat off skin—cooling when it’s warm, drier and warmer when it’s not. Use it for most rides (skip it above ~90°F). Pick Transfer (poly) for all-conditions speed or Merino for cozy, cool-weather miles.
Early start, warm finish—dress for both. Arm and leg warmers slide on fast, peel off faster, and stash in a jersey pocket when the day heats up. Fit matters: snug enough not to slip, never constrictive. Layer them under your jersey and bibs to lock them in place and keep the chill out.
Socks aren’t just another way to dial in your look; the bright colors help you be seen by drivers on the road. They come in many lengths, but, thanks to Lance Armstrong, the current trend has a bias for midcalf length. Socks should be comfortable, stay put, and meet the conditions you’re riding in. Thin and airy are good for hot summer days; wear a bit thicker Merino wool sock for cooler days.
