USE SIMPLE DETERGENTS WITH NO ADDITIVES Never use detergents with fabric softeners, perfumes or any additive type product. The general rule of thumb is the simpler the better. Many detergents with additives leave "surfactants" behind on a fabric's fibers that inhibit the technical performance. Typically the best detergents to use will have "Clear" or "Free" in their names. Don't pour the detergent directly onto the clothing, put it in the washer first, when you start the water. If something is not functionally working, but is not dirty, try rinsing it twice in warm to hot water. This will help get rid of the harmful surfactants. READ THE CONTENT CARE LABEL: On the inside of your garment, or on the hangcard, there are instructions for the care of that individual piece. On garments this will be on a side seam or back seam label. Follow those directions. On finer fabrics, use a "Gentle" cycle. Close all zippers, attach "hook and loop" closures on gloves YOU CAN USE THE DRYER, CAREFULLY: If you use a dryer be sure to use a lower / warm heat setting (Do NOT use a commercial dryer or a "Hot" setting). This will often restore the fabric and help the water and wind repellent qualities. If in doubt, hang the clothing to dry.

FAQs

The Women's PRO Shorts are premium women's road cycling shorts with a top-tier chamois and Italian compression fabric, in a waist short with no bib straps.

  • Who are the Women's PRO Shorts built for?
Road riders who want PRO-level comfort without bib straps: training rides, group rides, and endurance miles, for riders who prefer the easy on-off of a waist short.

  • What chamois do the Women's PRO Shorts use?
The triple-density PRO Levitate™ chamois, the same pad as the Women's PRO Bib Shorts. It reduces friction and saddle pressure and supports longer time in the riding position. The Chamois Guide compares every tier.

  • Are these good padded cycling shorts for long rides?
Yes. The PRO Levitate™ chamois, supportive compression, and low-bulk laser-cut hems are built for long road rides. If saddle comfort and a stable fit matter more to you than pockets, these are made for it.

  • Should I choose the PRO Shorts or the PRO Bib Shorts?
Same chamois, same fabric. The Women's PRO Bib Shorts give the most locked-in fit, since the bib upper holds everything without a waistband. The PRO Shorts use a wide waistband that stays put, and suit riders who want easier on-off and more freedom through the torso.

  • Will the waistband roll or dig in?
The wide waistband spreads pressure around the waist rather than concentrating it, so it holds in the riding position without rolling or digging in.

  • How long is the inseam?
8.5 inches, with laser-cut raw-edge leg openings and printed silicone grippers.

  • How do they compare to the Women's Attack Shorts and Women's Quest Shorts?
The Women's Attack Shorts are the everyday performance option for regular training. The Women's Quest Shorts are built around all-day comfort for weekend rides and commutes. The PRO Shorts carry the most advanced fabric and chamois, for longer and faster road rides.

  • What should I wear with the Women's PRO Shorts?
Pair them with the Women's PRO Jersey, or the Women's PRO Mesh Jersey on hot days. For changing conditions, add the Women's PRO Barrier Vest.

Where are my shorts?????

"The shorts I bought and paid for were supposed to be an anniversary present for my wife but never arrived. You have horrible customer service. I ordered weeks before the anniversary to allow adequate time for delivery. Maybe you should focus on actually delivering product instead of worrying about surveys. Please call me at 802-371-8958 to let me know how to get the shorts I paid $205 for"

Comfortable & Padding Is Great

"I really like the seamless design of these shorts. They are soft and comfortable. Took them out for a 45mi ride and no complaints. I ordered a size up and they fit great."

— Coralyn G. (5/5)

Great shorts

"Second pair of these. I tried some from Rapha and there was no comparison. These fit way better and and much more flattering. Love the clean lines, comfy fabric, and padding."

— Heidi B. (5/5)

Great Cycling Shorts

"I like the shorts. The padding is really nice, and the fabric is super soft. I wish the waist band was a little thicker like the Expedition shorts. I have these in the bibs as well. I think I like the bibs better primarily because of the waist band. I'd still recommend these shorts to anyone."

— Kelley W. (4/5)

Overall good, could be better

"I like the fabric and the chamois. I wish the shorts were longer and that they stayed closer to my knees instead of riding up on my thighs. I am 5'7" and 120 lbs. I ordered size Large because a previous pair of size Medium I had was too constrictive and uncomfortable. This is the only item of clothing I have in size Large."

— Helen C. (4/5)

Best Road Bike Shorts Ever

"At 5’5 and 145 lbs. the large fits snug and is comfortable."

— Kathy L. (5/5)

These Pro Shorts are the way to go

"I am a 5' 6", 167 pound 55 year old cyclist. I'm a recreational cyclist who is training for a weeklong bikepacking trip across the Katy Trail. I ride anywhere from 15-35 miles on both indoor trainers and my gravel bike (Specialized Diverge). I've experimented with a few different shorts Rapha (I like those), the Pearl Izumi Expedition (love those pockets, but the chamois is very puffy), the Pro Bibs with drop tail (Great for keeping it all in place and easy to use if you need to use the bathroom), and these Pro shorts. The Pros have the best chamois so I'm not going elsewhere anytime soon. I have ordered a large and an extra large in these and they both do just fine fit-wise, but I prefer the feel of the XL as it does move a little and I don't feel like my movement is being restricted with this size. The large are fine too, don't move on me, but. . . after sweating and making pit stops i have to really tug on those pulling up the leg so they don't pull against me when i pedal. I don't have sausage legs with either sizes of these, and I don't notice the belly folding down as i don't really pay attention to that I guess. I have a fluffy belly and the waistline on both are fine. I get a very smidge muffin top with the large, but i wear looser jerseys so I don't really care, I still prefer the looser XL through both the waist and legs. Pearl Izumi used to make an Expedition Pro short which had the side pockets but the pro chamois. Pearl Izumi- please bring those back! :)."

Size changed from previous design

"I would love this short except that I bought the same size as my last pro short and this one is smaller in waist, which is uncomfortable. Trying to get PI to respond to my return request still."

— Jerry R. (2/5)

The best cycling shorts!

"I have tried many other brands and options, but I now have 2 pairs of these and find the padding is most comfortable and the legs stay put. I won’t wear any other cycling shorts."

— Norma R. (5/5)

Love These!

"The fit is very comfortable, as is the compression. Seat is also nice and comfy. The legs stay put with no riding-up. Yay!"
