USE SIMPLE DETERGENTS WITH NO ADDITIVES Never use detergents with fabric softeners, perfumes or any additive type product. The general rule of thumb is the simpler the better. Many detergents with additives leave "surfactants" behind on a fabric's fibers that inhibit the technical performance. Typically the best detergents to use will have "Clear" or "Free" in their names. Don't pour the detergent directly onto the clothing, put it in the washer first, when you start the water. If something is not functionally working, but is not dirty, try rinsing it twice in warm to hot water. This will help get rid of the harmful surfactants. READ THE CONTENT CARE LABEL: On the inside of your garment, or on the hangcard, there are instructions for the care of that individual piece. On garments this will be on a side seam or back seam label. Follow those directions. On finer fabrics, use a "Gentle" cycle. Close all zippers, attach "hook and loop" closures on gloves YOU CAN USE THE DRYER, CAREFULLY: If you use a dryer be sure to use a lower / warm heat setting (Do NOT use a commercial dryer or a "Hot" setting). This will often restore the fabric and help the water and wind repellent qualities. If in doubt, hang the clothing to dry.

"Like the previous reviewer, I replace these every couple of years as the padding wears out. That's from repeated use not poor quality. At first I thought the finger pulls were odd but I've come to appreciate the efficiency of the design. Didn't need the velcro wrist straps, I just leave them attached loosely and pull them on and off just like the previous design."
Too hard to don and remove
"The gloves are poorly designed, the cutout that gives you extra room to get the gloves on and off, is too small. The strap is almost unnecessary as the gloves are so hard to come off. The cutout (relief) in the glove near the wrist should be deeper, allowing for easier on / off. Picture attached shows an old black pair (on left) of Pearl iZumi gel gloves, and the new gloves in Red (on right). Note the larger cutout on the old gloves. I selected "true to size" but a better fit description is "runs slightly small"."

"Do yourself a favor and skip the basic $25 gloves. You won't regret the better ergonomics and comfort that upgrading to these gloves will provide. As always, it's important to periodically change hand positions but these gloves do help to minimize any numbness, provide good grip and are true to size. A must have for any beginner or intermediate cyclist."

"I purchased a couple of pairs of these to replace gloves that I should have retired long ago. I carefully followed the size guide; my measurements landed squarely in the middle of the Medium category. Unfortunately, the gloves run small and are difficult to put on. Once on, they fit, well, like a glove. They provide adequate hand protection. I will probably exchange the pair that I haven’t worn for a size large."

"Fit is a bit tight close to wrist, they are still new so I'm sure they will loosen up in time. Padding feels good, much better than my old pearl gloves that are just worn out. Would not what the glove size bigger or smaller."
Not Really “Gel” Gloves
"These gloves fit well, and are made of a good fabric. I like the palm material a lot, feels nice against the grip tape. Sadly these really aren’t a gel glove at all, they just have what feels and looks to be a solid rubber pad in the palms that act as the cushion. This is pretty ineffective at dampening any vibrations, or increasing the comfort of the bars, beyond adding additional material between your hand and the bars and controls. I have another pair that were super cheap from Amazon that were actual gel, and while the build quality wasn’t great, they gave way more comfort from a real gel pad that conformed to my hands and the bars instead of getting in the way and doing nothing to add comfort. Ended up returning sadly."
Great color velcro closure
"As many people have noted, these gloves fit a bit tight around the wrist. Once on they fit great on the hand, yet the wrist is tight thus using the velcro closure about 1/2 or less is used. My assessment is based on size large which I wear in dozens of gloves. The padding is good and the red I got is brilliant, red being difficult to find particularly without velcro which I am not a fan of on a glove. I think the glove is good, well manufactured with the few caveats listed."
Durability!
"I buy the latest iteration of these gloves about every 3 years, by which time the ulnar padding is permanently squished to ineffectiveness. Gloves are excellent. This pair seems very similar to my last, the biggest difference being there’s a Velcro closure on these, while my previous were just pull-on. The Velcro is a bit of a bummer bc in editions past the Velcro wore out and would no longer fasten while the rest of the glove was fine. So we’ll see. These new ones use low-profile Velcro that feels like it’ll last longer. Fit is snug and the padding is in all the right places. The padding is firm and thin, providing good bar feel at the slight expense of more cushion. The finger pulls work really well, and while you’d think they’d be the first thing to rip I have to say no pair of PI gloves I’ve ever owned ever structurally ripped or failed in any way. The padding just eventually squishes or the Velcro stops holding. So, excellent gloves, in-line w every other piece of PI gear over ever bought."
Perfect with the xxl
"I’m surprised at how perfectly these gloves fit my hands. They truly fit “glove tight”. I normally wear an XL with my motorcycle gloves but I checked my quite well used Pearl iZUMI gloves and they are an Xxl but fit very loosely. I love the quality of stitching and the Velcro wrist strap. Do not order your normal size! Go up at least one, maybe two sizes."
