When warmth is your top priority, the AmFIB® Lobster Gel Gloves deliver serious warmth on cold-weather rides. These lobster-style gloves combine mitten-level insulation with fingertip control suited for braking, shifting, and ride responsiveness, ideal for temps below 30°F.

The split design separates the index and middle fingers for precise leverage and touchscreen access while grouping the ring and pinkie together for maximum warmth. Built with 170 g PrimaLoft® Gold with Cross Core™ insulation (with aerogel particles), they provide exceptional warmth with minimal bulk, wrapped in flexible AmFIB® softshell fabric to block wind and moisture.

On the palm, an AX® Suede Laredo synthetic leather surface offers durable grip. Inside, a AmFIB® 3D-gel palm pad cushions from vibration and road chatter without compromising control. A middle-finger pull-off tab aids in quick removal, and a hook-and-loop adjustable wrist closure ensures an adaptive, secure fit, even over base gloves or liners.

Both the index finger and thumb are touchscreen compatible, and a soft microfiber thumb panel provides a clean sweat wipe when needed. Enhanced visibility comes from BioViz™ reflective accents that reach up to 100 m in low light conditions.

For riders demanding thermal protection without losing dexterity, the Lobster Gel Gloves are a proven solution, bringing warmth, gel-padded comfort, and control together in one cold-weather glove.

Pair with your favorite AmFIB® winter cycling gear, or layer these over thinner gloves for extreme cold protection that doesn't sacrifice feel.

USE SIMPLE DETERGENTS WITH NO ADDITIVES Never use detergents with fabric softeners, perfumes or any additive type product. The general rule of thumb is the simpler the better. Many detergents with additives leave "surfactants" behind on a fabric's fibers that inhibit the technical performance. Typically the best detergents to use will have "Clear" or "Free" in their names. Don't pour the detergent directly onto the clothing, put it in the washer first, when you start the water. If something is not functionally working, but is not dirty, try rinsing it twice in warm to hot water. This will help get rid of the harmful surfactants. READ THE CONTENT CARE LABEL: On the inside of your garment, or on the hangcard, there are instructions for the care of that individual piece. On garments this will be on a side seam or back seam label. Follow those directions. On finer fabrics, use a "Gentle" cycle. Close all zippers, attach "hook and loop" closures on gloves YOU CAN USE THE DRYER, CAREFULLY: If you use a dryer be sure to use a lower / warm heat setting (Do NOT use a commercial dryer or a "Hot" setting). This will often restore the fabric and help the water and wind repellent qualities. If in doubt, hang the clothing to dry.

FAQs

The AmFIB® Lobster Gel Gloves are winter cycling gloves that combine mitten-level warmth with gel palm padding, for rides below 30°F.

  • What are lobster gloves?
Gloves that group some fingers so they share warmth like a mitten. Here the index and middle fingers are split for braking, shifting, and touchscreen use, while the ring and pinkie stay grouped for maximum warmth.

  • How cold can I ride in them?
They're built for rides below 30°F. In extreme cold you can also wear them over a thinner liner glove.

  • What insulation do they use?
170 g PrimaLoft® Gold with Cross Core™ insulation, which contains aerogel particles for strong warmth with minimal bulk, wrapped in AmFIB® softshell that blocks wind and moisture.

  • What does the gel pad do?
A 3D gel palm pad cushions road vibration and chatter without taking away control, which matters on long, cold rides when hands are already working harder.

  • Can I use a touchscreen?
Yes, on the index finger and thumb. A middle-finger pull-off tab makes them easy to remove.

  • How do they compare to the AmFIB® Lobster Evo Gloves?
Both use the same 170 g PrimaLoft® Gold insulation and split-finger design. The Lobster Gel adds a 3D gel palm pad; the AmFIB® Lobster Evo Gloves leave it out.

  • How do I wash cycling gloves?
Close the hook-and-loop closure so it doesn't snag, wash cold on a gentle cycle, and skip fabric softener. Air-dry away from direct heat.

Reviews

Very pleased

"Really nice glove. I already sized up once though and would probably do it again in the future. Very comfortable and does a good job keeping me warm into the low 40’s. I am prone to cold fingers, so others might be able to use them in colder temperatures."

— Chris S. (4/5)

I've been riding with Pearl

"I've been riding with Pearl Izumi gear for 40years great product. the newer gloves i don't like the liners in them. have large gloves Lobster mits and the insulated full finger gloves. they are hard to get off and get your fingers back in the proper finger location. never had this problem with the older gloves. The liner pulls out of place when you pull your hands out of the glove. Hopefully they will pack down/breakin"

— todd S. (5/5)

Not my first pair of this model, liked them enough to come back after 5 years

"Not my first pair of this model, liked them enough to come back after 5 years. Previous pair has been relegated to shoveling and shoulder season weather. Finish on the leather portions has begun to wear off and insulation has compressed to where they just aren't as warm as they once were. But 5 years is a good long time for a pair of lighter weight gloves to last! Priced well enough that they are still a bargain"

— Brian H. (5/5)

Warmest bike mitts out there

"Have had a pair for several years, bought another one as they work great. Careful pulling hands out especially if they are sweaty as the liners can be a tad bit loose and hint at becoming reversed. Better when broken in a bit with the palms being insulated."

— David C. (5/5)

Thumbs too small/tight, not crazy warm

"The thumb is very tight compared to the other fingers (and in general, especially at the tip) and for me got cold much faster as a result. The gloves in general aren't crazy warm in temps below 40. A separate liner might help, but the thumb's restrictiveness makes that out of the question. I've worn a size L in most other gloves but these seem off."

— Wylie B. (3/5)

My fingers finally felt warm but…

"The gloves ran small compared to my other XL pearl Izumi gloves. I wanted to enjoy them, but my hand and thumbs started cramping while trying to keep my hands open due to the sizing."

— Eran J. (3/5)

Lobster gloves for the win

"I have always had a problem with cold hands in cold weather on the bike, even with cycling gloves on. I had the chance to ty out my new Lobster Gel Gloves today and my fingers were finally comfortable! They also provided more dexterity than mittens and I didn't miss having 4 individual fingers."

— Amanda V. (5/5)

Not a great lobster claw

"These claw gloves are certainly warm but the spacing for each of the two fingers(pinky/ring and middle/pointer)is awkward and uncomfortable on rides. Real claw gloves have the index finger in its own part of the glove which allows for shifting and breaking. These are spaced where you have 2 have 2 which is pretty uncomfortable. Otherwise these are fine"

— Jackson R. (1/5)

Tight

"The gloves are very well constructed, as I’d expect from PI. However, like other reviewers, I find them quite tight, especially around the outside of the lowest knuckles, and this is for the 2X size. The tightness reduces their effectiveness against cold, right where I need it most. These are good down to about 35F, but I certainly won’t be wearing them at temperatures lower than that."

— Richard S. (4/5)

Too small

"Excellent gloves but too small (XS) for my wife. We are in the midst of an exchange for size S. Pleased with customer service, so far."

— Gord H. (5/5)
