Women’s Wet Weather Cycling Gear

Women’s Wet Weather Cycling Gear

Built for Real Rain: The Women’s Attack WxB Jacket

When the conditions are genuinely wet, not just damp, but steady rain, you need a dedicated rain shell with seam-sealed waterproof construction. The Women’s Attack WxB Jacket is built exactly for that. It uses a lightweight 3-layer WxB waterproof membrane with a 10K/10K waterproof-breathability rating, meaning it blocks sustained rain without trapping the heat you’re generating on the bike.

Fully sealed seams close every potential entry point, and a PFAS-free PI Dry® C0 DWR finish causes water to bead off the surface rather than saturate it. Articulated sleeves give you full range of motion in the drops, stretch cuffs seal out road spray, and a long drop tail covers your back when you’re tucked. The two-way YKK® zipper with internal storm flap lets you vent from the bottom without breaking the weather seal. And since there are no extra pockets, the jacket packs down small enough to live in your jersey pocket on uncertain days.

Complete the System: Wet Weather Beyond the Jacket

A great women’s waterproof cycling jacket handles the top half. Getting truly comfortable in the rain means thinking about everything below the collar, too. PEARL iZUMi’s wet weather accessories work together as a system, so nothing lets in water where something else has left off.

Women’s AmFIB® Tights: Use the same PI Dry® C0 DWR treatment as the jacket and block wind and road spray from the front, seat, and calves.

Women’s AmFIB® Gel Cycling Gloves: Insulated, wind-blocking coverage for hands in the 30–50°F range, with touchscreen-compatible fingertips so you can check your GPS without peeling them off mid-ride.

Waterproof Shoe Covers: Wet feet are what actually end rides early. Seal the system from the ground up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about PEARL iZUMi products.

  • A wind jacket blocks cold air and handles light spray, but it's not built for sustained rain; seams aren't sealed, and the fabric isn't rated for waterproof performance. The Attack WxB Jacket uses a fully seam-sealed 3-layer WxB membrane with a 10K/10K waterproof-breathability rating, engineered to keep rain out even on long, wet rides. If you're regularly riding through actual rain rather than just damp conditions, a dedicated rain shell is worth the upgrade.

  • This is a deliberate design choice for packability. The jacket is meant to layer over a cycling jersey, which provides the rear pockets you need for food, tools, and your phone. The two-way zipper with storm flap lets you access those pockets from underneath without fully opening the jacket in the rain.

  • The PI Dry® C0 treatment is applied at the fiber level, so it's more durable than surface-coated DWR finishes. The biggest enemy is fabric softener and detergents with additives, which leave surfactants on the fibers that degrade water repellency over time. Wash with a simple, additive-free detergent on a gentle cycle, and tumble dry on low heat, which can help restore the DWR's performance.
