What happened to sizing?
"I have a previous pair of Pearl Izumi Large bib shorts that I have loved and fit very well. I followed the size guide and verified the size against the sizing chart and process and the recommendation was Large, but I can barely get them on. I am disappointed because I like the quality of fabric and construction, but will not be able to wear these."
Good on the bum
"Fabric quality is great, it fits very small and the stitches look ready to burst. Small is already 1 size up from measurements in the chart."
Too small!
"These medium bibs are cut way too small! Your quality has gone way down!"
Way too small!
"Please listen to the other reviewers when they say to size up. I have owned multiple PI bibs and shorts and am a medium with some wiggle room so I figured I could get away with buying a medium with these. Terrible mistake, it was like putting on a wetsuit to get these over my thighs. Once on, my legs looked like over stuffed sausage where the casing had folded over. Not a good look. These are absolutely terrible and I wish I could return them but I unfortunately bought them on final sale. Please avoid these at all costs."
Attack Air Bib
"Quality is good. True size fit."
Not good for me
"These shorts promised that you would be able to drop the back to go to the bathroom without removing your jersey. Maybe if you don’t have much junk in the trunk that would work for you, but not for me. Also, the legs were tighter than my other Pearl Izumi shorts."
Droptail feature kinda sucks
"I have always worn pearl Izumi bibs cause they are legit the only chamois that I find comfortable (except for Assos), and I love all my pearl Izumi bibs. Except… I hate the drop tail feature. First of all, it straight up doesn’t work. Like all the people I’ve talked to about this collectively agree that it doesn’t go down far enough, and it doesn’t actually work for anyone. I wouldn’t by a pair of bibs for this feature. On top of it not working, it also sits so low on your back that all of my jerseys ride up just slightly above it and create this awakard jersey to bib skin gap that is so uncomfortable. Pearl Izumi, I love the chamois, hate the drop tail. Bring back the bibs that have an actual back fabric!!!!"
Sizing very too small
"This is my first bib padded shorts and I heard it was worth a try. Personally I now like just padded shorts better. I read reviews about the drop seat, not sure how that is supposed to work because it does not work for me. One of the best things about this product is the padding is a lot with good coverage. Maybe because the padding is so heavy, I don’t have space in my pant area. This makes the whole thing feel too tight. My other padded shorts are small and fit great. I’ve ordered shorts through Izumi that are medium and fit since they ran small. I would say these run extremely small. I ordered a medium and this the tightness and weggie feeling, I would need a large. I don’t own any pant in size large in my wardrobe so would have even thought I needed to order that high. Unfortunately, I’d prob only still wear these limited or give to a friend that fits better."
Bibs Run Small
"Sizing runs small but quality is great!"
Love it!
"Very comfortable for long cycles. I have a very athletic build, smaller waist but larger thighs and originally ordered a medium (all my other cycling shorts are medium). The medium would not fit over my legs but returned and got the larger which worked out well! If you have an athletic build, I would recommend sizing up."
