Reviews

Too small

"I have had two earlier top of the line Pearl Izumi road shoes, including a a pair Hugh Walton introduced to me;however, that is not the case with the Pro Road pair I have used for almost two weeks. The uppers are far smaller than my last two pairs of Pearl Izumi road shoes. The tongue will not stay in place unless I cinch down the upper to such a degree that foot pain becomes almost unbearable in a little as one hour in the bike."

Fit

"Would love to give it a higher score, however there are several items that should be improved upon considering these are $300 1. BOA should be omnidirectional (both ways). Having to snap them loose and readjust is not up to standard for price. 2. Non-replaceable heel pad 3. Tongue does not work well. I have used Pearl Izumi for many years, I still wear my old pro-leader III’s"

The best

"Love the half size options and the two BOA dials. Makes on bike adjustments very easy. Quality shoe."

— MICHAEL M. (5/5)

Shoes work well

"Finally able to wear my shoes because of the weather. It stopped raining. Shoes fit well and toes don’t bunch up at the end. I wear an 8 1/2 but purchased a size smaller. Feet started to swell during a long ride, but was able to adjust them while riding."

— Todd M. (4/5)

The most comfortable shoe

"First time out with the shoe I was expecting that it would need a break in period. But the shoe felt so comfortable the first ride absolutely love it."

— gerald l. (5/5)

Good, but not top shelf.

"I own a number of Pearl Izumi shoes and these are good shoes for the money. They are well made and comfortable. I do wish that these had micro adjustable Boa dials instead of the single direction ones. I hope that they may come out with a more premium shoe in the future that replaces the (now out of production) Pro Air shoe. Right now they have nothing competing with other manufacturers top end shoes."

— chris h. (3/5)

Could be better

"The BOAs aren't adjustable. Once you lock in a tightness, you can't loosen it without releasing the entire system. The 'dual BOA Fit System' in the description is misleading. Good luck doing this on the bike. Also, the shoe's tongue isn't secured so it will slip down and bunch up."

— Gary (3/5)

BOA dual L6C dials

"To me the description BOA dual L6C dials meant that the dials worked both forward and reverse directions, however that is not the situation. This makes dialing in comfort a bit more difficult. The width fit seems tight although the size is the same as the Pearl Izumi’s I have been using for the last 3 years. I have only been on two rides of 35 miles, and will reassess after a few more rides."

— Charles F. (4/5)

They fit and look great.

"They fit and look great. They fit true to size!"

— Stephen P. (5/5)

Very nice shoe

"Comfortable fitting, true to size , quick delivery."

— Jeff C. (5/5)
