Built for riders who don't flinch at the sight of storm clouds, the Men's Summit PRO NeoShell® WxB Jacket delivers elite-level protection for all-day trail missions and bikepacking epics. This is our most advanced mountain bike shell—fully waterproof, highly breathable, and built to move with you when the ride gets rowdy.

Crafted from Polartec® NeoShell® 3-layer ripstop fabric, it combines exceptional stretch with durable waterproof performance that's fully seam sealed to block out the elements. Unlike traditional rain shells, NeoShell® allows heat and moisture to escape, keeping you dry inside and out—especially on high-output climbs and long technical descents.

A two-way YKK Aquaguard® front zipper offers customizable airflow, while the over-the-helmet hood provides full coverage without limiting your view or movement. Designed with a trail-specific fit, articulated sleeves, and a drop-tail hem, it delivers coverage and mobility where you need it most. And when the skies clear? The jacket packs down small to stash easily in a frame bag or pack.

Pair it with our Summit AmFIB® Lite Pants for full foul-weather defense, or explore more men's mountain bike jackets built to thrive through all four seasons.

Comfortable

"I have mainly worn this coat to go fatbike until now. The fabric is cool against the skin and I never came back soaked as I was with other coats. It is undeniable that the fabric really breathes. Its only small flaw is that once in the saddle, there is a strange fold in the chest. It's nothing major, but it's clear that the water will store there during a good shower. Despite everything, I find myself wearing this coat much more often than I thought I was going to do before buying it. I am satisfied!"

When a product lives up to its ad copy

"I bought this jacket specifically for its high breathability knowing full well that its waterproof rating is on the low side. Don't let that deter you. It will keep riders who run hot from feeling like they are wearing a clammy, black plastic garbage bag of a jacket. It will also keep you dry in a rain storm. Probably not a day-long soaking while touring, but a good hour is not a challenge. I believe in good gear - paying more for a product that actually works versus saving a few bucks and then being miserable on a ride because a cheaper product isn't good enough. Time is money, but so is misery. (But it never hurts when things are on sale like this was!) I had the first opportunity to use the Summit PRO NeoShell when a spring rain/hail storm hit us mid-ride and it worked precisely as advertised: very breathable, but also waterproof. It rained for about 20-30 minutes, so not a monsoon, but still a good soaking. It is brand new, so I can't speak to durability - all I know is that I returned home warm, mostly because I was dry. A month ago I got caught out in a rainstorm with cheap rain gear and I got soaked which meant being cold. Hence this most recent purchase. Boy am I glad I did! I coupled the jacket with the Summit 3L waterproof pants and they also did a great job keeping me dry and warm."

Super jacket

"Il est résistant, respirant, imperméable et la finition est soignée. Je l'utiliserai cet l'hiver avec une sous couche mérino et une veste en sous couches. J'ai hâte de le mettre à l'épreuve de l'hiver Québécois. Si on est bien équipé, -30, en vélo quand on pédale intensément, ce n',est pas la fin du monde."

Best mtb rain jacket

"In short buy this jacket ! Ive got 4 other jackets hanging on the wall because I finally found a good mtb rain jacket. The fit is perfect I have wide shoulders and I didn’t have to size up! This jacket breaths like no others can! I can keep it on while riding uphill. I’ve probably put 500+ miles of wet weather racing / training in on this and it hasn’t skipped a beat !"

pretty fancy

"I got this because I wanted a more water resistant jacket for mountain bike riding. I have an older pro amfib jacket that is pretty good but more of a road fit. However, I still haven't brought this out riding with me. It's just a little much to shove into my hip pack where my other jackets fit pretty well. Has a little more of a relaxed fit and regular jacket look to it which does make it useful for wearing around off the bike but doing things like cutting the front a little shorter, having better wrist closures, and having pockets that are useful while riding would be nice. On the plus side, this thing is actually waterproof and light and breathable. It's been my go to rain jacket lately and I was out in a downpour at a race and stayed dry underneath. Will probably pick up the road version at some point so I have something slimmer fitting to replace my well worn amfib jacket."

Why no high visability color option??

"After getting hit by a car while riding from my home to the trailhead, I have to wonder why you do not offer it in a screaming yellow or screaming green color? Seriously, visability goes down in the rain and cars have a hard enough time seeing us when the weather is clear. Seriously, this only comes in black and is the only hooded waterproof jacket you offer."

Loved the fit and feel, but zipper broke on first use.

"Stretchy material feels so good. I really like that all the zippers are taped on the inside. Felt good that it would keep the water out. Wore it around the house a few times and noticed that the zipper kept sticking. Sure enough the very first time I wore it, the zipper broke. Super frustrating because I was on a cold trail."

Poor

"Fabric feels good. Generous arm sleeves for the small size. Design and execution are poor. No ability to secure ends of sleeves to reduce wind Zipper slider arrived twisted Upon zipping up over one or two layers of close fitting tops the jacket forms a “bill” at center of chest , one area projects out as a hat’s bill must be result of poor design. No reflector tapes for night/rain riding. Probably worst fitting jacket I’ve tried on in the last 30 years . Rushing new item to market shows it’s marks."
