FAQs

The Men's Quest AmFIB® Jacket is a men's winter cycling jacket built to keep you riding through cold commutes and brisk weekend miles.

  • How cold can I ride in it?
It's built for winter riding. The three-layer AmFIB® softshell blocks wind and the fleece-lined interior keeps warmth close, and with the right layers underneath it extends your season well into the cold months.

  • Is it waterproof?
It's water-resistant. PI Dry® technology sheds light rain, flurries, and road spray, which covers most winter riding. For sustained heavy rain, add a fully waterproof shell.

  • How does it fit?
Classic fit, with room to layer a base and a thermal jersey underneath. See the Size & Fit Guide to find your size.

  • What should I wear under it?
A moisture-moving base layer and a thermal jersey such as the Men's Quest Thermal Jersey. The softshell handles wind and weather, so the layers underneath only need to manage warmth and sweat.

  • Is it breathable?
Yes. The softshell blocks the elements without trapping heat, so it stays comfortable through harder efforts and climbs.

  • Does it have pockets and reflectivity?
A zippered rear pocket secures ride essentials, and reflective elements add visibility on short winter days. The main body is 100% recycled polyester.

  • What should I wear with it?
Pair it with the Men's Thermal Cycling Tights for a complete winter setup.

Reviews

"Awesome product"

— Anthony (4/5)

Not breathable. I had an earlier generation that was better

"This version is a non-breathable fleece. Similar to just wearing a nylon wind jacket. I had an earlier version of this jacket that had care fully placed windproof and breathable panels. That jacket is awesome, but not this one. This version is also missing the chest pocket."

— Paul Z. (2/5)

Good but inadequate in pockets & reflective marks

"The jacket has a bright color for safety, but minimal reflective marking. The only pocket is a modest rear pocket. The PI rep explained to me that PI racing jackets have minimal pockets. I challenge PI by reminding you that racers wear gloves that need storage. Come On. The thermal & water-resistant fabric is excellent, and the jacket length fits my tall frame well. It has 5-star potential if it had more pockets and reflective marking."

Very Nice Cold Weather Cycling Jacket

"The cycling jacket is exactly what I was looking for. It stops the wind on those cold morning commutes. I can pack it in my backpack easily for my commute back home."

— John A. (5/5)

Warm but doesn’t breath

"Great fit! I’m 6’ 150lbs. Usually size small but glad I went with a medium. Keeps me toasty."

— Peter K. (4/5)

Just right for shoulder seasons in Steamboat Springs

"I like the Am Fib jacket in bright green for dusk visibility March - April & October - November for 35-45 degree rides . Easy to layer enough under it . Warmer than I expected ."

— Thomas S. (5/5)

Finally…a warm AND wind resistant jacket

"For two years I have been layering up to 3 layers while cycling in Colorado winter weather- Base, warmth, and wind resistance. I received this jacket on a 35 degree day with a 15 mph headwind. I could feel the wind and cold on my face, but not my body. This jacket is warm with fleece lining. The wind seems to bounce right off it. At one point I almost felt too warm, but that was because I had two layers under the jacket. When wearing this jacket I only recommend a base layer. I am 5’6 with an athletic/stocky build and the large was a PERFECT size - snug, but not overly with a little bit of room at the waist. I don’t have to force it on like I have to do some of my bike jerseys."

— Nathan O. (5/5)

Great for my Boston bike commute

"I was avoiding dead of winter bike commuting because my gear was keeping me too cold or too sweaty. This has been perfect. Keeps me warm with a base and a light fleece in the teens and the wind never cuts through, and no overheating / sweating. Glad I sized up, it runs small."

— Jack R. (5/5)

Runs small

"I’m 6ft tall and 165 lbs The size large was tight around my chest and under arms. Returned for the xl which is a definitely bigger than I need but much more comfortable and more room for my base layers. Happy with it but would rather have the standard three pocket back instead of larger single zippered pocket. Would buy again."

— Josh B. (4/5)

Essential Cold Weather Jacket

"A versatile jacket that can be worn with a thin base layer for temps in the 40’s or layer it for really cold rides. Nice adjustable waist. Trim without being tight. The blue color looks good. Very happy with it."
