Men's Expedition Thermal Cycling Bib Tights
When cold weather rolls in, the Men's Expedition Thermal Cycling Bib Tights deliver the warmth, comfort, and smart storage that serious road and gravel riders demand. Engineered for endurance, these thermal cycling bib tights use ELITE ThermaFleece to retain heat and wick moisture, so you stay dry, warm, and focused on the ride.
The dual-density ELITE Levitate™ chamois cushions against vibration and pressure, keeping you comfortable from base miles to big climbs. A drop-tail design offers discreet nature break convenience without removing layers, with no zippers or fuss. Laser-cut bib straps stretch to accommodate various torso lengths, creating a smooth, bulk-free fit under your jersey.
Two side cargo pockets provide easy access to snacks or tools, while PI Dry® C0 technology resists rain and road spray without harmful PFAS chemicals. Reflective BioViz™ elements ensure 100 meters of visibility for early starts and late finishes.

Great new addition to my cooler kits
"Every Pearl Izumi clothing I own is the best of my kits. Some items still hold up to the demands on cycling clothing."
Cycling bib, tights
"Warm comfortable, padding decent. A little long I’m a 30 x 30."
NOT FOR REAL WINTERS
"Was looking to replace a 10+ year old pair of Pearl Izumi Elite thermal bibs for winter riding (typically -10c to -25c temperatures). Purchased the Thermal Expedition tights as (my impression) these were the warmest tights PI made. Unfortunately these are notably colder than my old Elite bibs, and do NOT have wknd block panels on the front like my old Elites. The only positive is the chamois is better padding (but that’s compared to a 10+ year old pair). To say I’m disappointed is an understatement… maybe they’ll be adequate for “shoulder season” but I’ll be resorting to my old Elites still for winter."
I finally found my Winter Bib Tights!
"I have been desperately searching for Winter Bib Tights now that the weather has turned cold. I’ve found ones that are warm, some that fit, and some reasonably priced. This is the first to meet all my needs. They used FedEx Ground who lost them, otherwise I would have given them 5 stars."
Ok for cool weather but would not recommend for winter or beefy riders.
"I have worn PI for maybe 30 years. I have some wool PI and somewhere, a pair of shorts that have an actual chamois. It has always been my go-to no brainer brand. Except for a couple zippers that stopped working, virtually no issues. So these bib tights were a surprising disappointment. They are cut a bit small. My legs feel squeezed. Not painful, but tight enough to make it a struggle to fit over winter socks. I am 5-9 1/2, 145 lb, 31 inch waist, so, skinny. Have always bought medium PI clothing. Secondly, they are not particularly warm for being a cold weather item. I wore them in 45 degree weather and my legs felt a little chilly. Thirdly, am a little concerned about the durability of the shoulder straps. Maybe they will be fine, but they are super thin material, like ribbons. Because of the hassle of returning them and looking for something else, I will keep them. On the positive side, the pad is the best I have ever used and I will continue to use PI clothing but will look elsewhere for winter tights."
Expedition bibs
"Excellent on recent 32 degree 40 mile ride. Love the pockets for phone and wallet"
Outstanding
"With winter nearing another pair of Expedition Thermal bid tights were needed. They check all the boxes and insure I’m ready for the temperatures to drop. Never disappointed as they work better than advertised. I use them for road, gravel, mountain, and fat biking, they are awesome!"
Comfortable and takes the nip out
"I've ridden them in 38 deg-60 and they felt great. I like the chamois and the fabric feels great. No complaints here."
Worth the price
"I’ve been buying more bibs with the cargo pockets because of the versatility and practicality. The chamois in these are top notch, too!"
Pearl Izumi Thermal Expedition Bib Tights
"Review is based on 4-5 rides (2-3 hours each) in dry conditions in 7 - 12 degree (C) temperatures. I have worn them for both road and gravel rides. These are the first bib tights I have used so my main point of comparison is the Pearl Izumi Expedition Bib Shorts, which I purchased in 2024 May. The fit is very similar to the shorts. The chamois padding is more comfortable, i. e. one spot that tends to get sore after 2 hours has rarely bothered me. I would have given these 5 stars if the pocket space was similar to the shorts. My rough estimate is that the thigh pockets on the tights are 70% of the size of the shorts pockets. Also the lack of a back pocket, where I normally keep my wallet, is a significant disadvantage. I believe thermal bib tights should have more pocket storage than bib shorts, because the normal jersey pockets are much harder to use when covered up by a couple layers of winter clothing."
