High-visibility gear that helps you stand out, no matter the conditions.
The BioViz™ system employs cutting-edge technology engineered to accentuate key body zones and enhance rider visibility and safety. Research shows drivers require a minimum of 100 meters to react to a cyclist's presence on the road, so we have designed our gear to be visible at this distance, in all conditions.
Biomotion taps into the brain's ability to detect motion, even when details are scarce. Standard reflective wear often uses components that scatter light, making you less noticeable. Our apparel is designed with superior reflectivity, strategically placed on crucial body areas, aiding drivers in recognizing human movement.
THREE BEHAVIOURS
| Static | Tempo | Flicker | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it does | Provides a steady reference point | Creates rhythmic motion | Adds quick dynamic movement |
| What a driver sees | A fixed marker to judge distance against | The cadence of pedalling | Sharp changes that catch the eye |
| Why it matters | Establishes that something is there | Signals a person, not an object | Draws attention in cluttered light |
Used together, the three behaviours give a driver more than a bright spot: they give a moving human shape, which is what the brain recognizes fastest.
Bright-colored gear is not just for show. Our signature BioViz™ colors, Fiery Coral and Screaming Yellow, reflect additional UV rays so you can be seen from 5x further away than traditional colors. Be brighter and bolder for a safer ride.
Graphic patterns and contrasting elements are more noticeable to our brains. The BioViz™ system uses high-contrast patterns to make fluorescents more noticeable as you move.
BioViz™ is our visibility system. It combines fluorescent daytime colors, high-contrast patterns, and reflectivity placed at key body zones so drivers recognize a moving human rather than just a bright spot. It is designed to be visible at 100 meters, the distance research shows drivers need to react to a cyclist.
Biomotion is the brain's ability to recognize a human by the pattern of movement, even when there is too little light to make out a shape. Reflectivity placed at moving body zones reads as a person rather than a stationary object, which is why placement matters more than total reflective area.
Yes. Fluorescent colors react to UV light, which makes them appear brighter than standard colors can in daylight, and especially at dawn and dusk. Our Fiery Coral and Screaming Yellow reflect additional UV rays so you can be seen from 5x further away than traditional colors. Fluorescents do not work in the dark, which is where reflectivity takes over.
You still need lights, and in many places they are legally required. Reflectivity only works when a light source hits it, so it depends on a driver's headlights pointing your way. Lights make you visible from angles headlights do not cover, and BioViz™ makes you recognizable as a person once they do.
Reflective elements last well but are not permanent. Wash cold, turn garments inside out, skip fabric softener, and avoid high heat, all of which shorten the life of reflective transfers. Fluorescent colors fade with prolonged UV exposure, so store gear out of direct sun.
