Women's Quest Barrier Convertible Jacket

Adapt to changing conditions without missing a beat—the Women’s Quest Barrier Convertible Jacket is a versatile all-weather piece that transitions effortlessly from jacket to vest. Snap-off sleeves tuck into the stow pocket when the sun comes out or the pace heats up, making this the smart choice for evolving rides.

Built from lightweight ripstop fabric with 5 CFM wind-blocking performance, it shields you from windchill and light rain while staying breathable. The PI Dry® C0 PFAS‑free durable water-repellent finish sheds moisture in unexpected conditions.

Performance ventilation is built in—a rear upper mesh panel encourages airflow when you heat up, and the YKK® two-way front zipper offers on-the-fly control and access to jersey pockets beneath. Snap-off sleeves pack down into the rear zip pocket for easy storage, while front zip hand pockets hold essentials securely.

The relaxed fit with extended sizing to 3XL ensures compatibility with a wider range of body types and layering systems. Adjustable dual hem cord locks at the waist let you fine-tune the seal against drafts.

Enhanced visibility comes via BioViz® reflective elements visible up to 100 m, and the jacket is crafted from recycled materials for a more responsible ride wardrobe.

Packable enough for a jersey pocket, adaptable enough for changing climbs or weather, this convertible jacket brings protection and performance wherever the journey goes.

Pair with your favorite ride kit or layer over lightweight women's cycling jerseys. Explore more in our full women’s cycling jackets lineup to complete a system built for the ride ahead.

Materials & Care

Main Body: 100% recycled polyester | Pockets: 100% polyester | Mesh Section: 100% polyester

USE SIMPLE DETERGENTS WITH NO ADDITIVES Never use detergents with fabric softeners, perfumes or any additive type product. The general rule of thumb is the simpler the better. Many detergents with additives leave "surfactants" behind on a fabric's fibers that inhibit the technical performance. Typically the best detergents to use will have "Clear" or "Free" in their names. Don't pour the detergent directly onto the clothing, put it in the washer first, when you start the water. If something is not functionally working, but is not dirty, try rinsing it twice in warm to hot water. This will help get rid of the harmful surfactants. READ THE CONTENT CARE LABEL: On the inside of your garment, or on the hangcard, there are instructions for the care of that individual piece. On garments this will be on a side seam or back seam label. Follow those directions. On finer fabrics, use a "Gentle" cycle. Close all zippers, attach "hook and loop" closures on gloves YOU CAN USE THE DRYER, CAREFULLY: If you use a dryer be sure to use a lower / warm heat setting (Do NOT use a commercial dryer or a "Hot" setting). This will often restore the fabric and help the water and wind repellent qualities. If in doubt, hang the clothing to dry.

FAQs

The Women’s Quest Barrier Convertible Jacket is a versatile women’s cycling jacket built for changing conditions, everyday road rides, commuting, and shoulder-season miles where wind protection, light rain resistance, and adaptable coverage matter.

  • What type of rider is the Women’s Quest Barrier Convertible Jacket built for?
The Women’s Quest Barrier Convertible Jacket is built for riders who want one layer that can handle shifting weather. It works well for recreational rides, road cycling, commuting, fitness rides, and cool starts that turn warm later. The convertible design makes it especially useful for cyclists who do not want to stop the ride just because the wind changes, the sun breaks through, or the pace heats up.

  • How does the convertible design work?
The sleeves snap off so the jacket quickly converts into a cycling vest. When the ride warms up, remove the sleeves and stash them in the rear zip storage pocket. That gives you core wind protection without full-arm coverage, making this a practical 2-in-1 women’s cycling jacket for variable conditions.

  • What kind of weather is this jacket best for?
This is a wind-blocking, water-resistant cycling jacket built for cool, breezy, and lightly wet conditions. The lightweight ripstop fabric helps protect against windchill, while PI Dry® C0 technology adds PFAS-free durable water repellency for sporadic rain and road spray. For sustained rain or storm conditions, a waterproof rain shell like the Women’s Attack WxB Jacket is the better tool.

  • How wind-resistant is it?
The lightweight ripstop fabric is rated at 5 CFM, which means it is built to significantly reduce airflow and help cut windchill while still allowing some breathability. For cyclists, that balance matters: too much airflow feels cold on descents, but a fully sealed layer can trap heat when the effort rises.

  • How does it manage ventilation?
The rear upper mesh panel helps release heat as the ride intensity climbs. A YKK® two-way front zipper also lets you vent from the bottom, open from the top, or access jersey pockets underneath without fully removing the jacket. That makes it easier to regulate temperature during climbs, descents, and stop-and-go rides.

  • How does the fit work for layering?
The Women’s Quest Barrier Convertible Jacket uses a Semi-Form Fit, giving it enough structure for cycling without feeling race-tight. It is designed to layer over a jersey, lightweight thermal, or everyday cycling top. Dual side hem cord locks let you adjust the waist to reduce drafts and fine-tune the fit while riding.

  • What storage does it have?
It includes front zip hand pockets for essentials and a rear zip storage pocket that can hold the snap-off sleeves. That rear pocket is key to the convertible design because it keeps the sleeves with you when the jacket becomes a vest. It is built for riders who need functional storage without overcomplicating the ride.

  • How does this compare to the Women’s Quest Barrier Jacket or Women’s Attack Barrier Jacket?
The Women’s Quest Barrier Convertible Jacket is the most adaptable option because it converts from jacket to vest. The Women’s Quest Barrier Jacket is a simpler wind layer without removable sleeves, while the Women’s Attack Barrier Jacket is lighter, more packable, and more performance-focused. Choose Quest Convertible when versatility matters most.

  • What should I wear with the Women’s Quest Barrier Convertible Jacket?
For mild conditions, layer it over the Women’s Quest Short Sleeve Jersey. For cooler rides, pair it with the Women’s Quest Thermal Jersey. When temperatures drop further, add thermal tights or a baselayer underneath. The goal is simple: keep the core protected, dump heat when needed, and keep moving.
