This is our heaviest base layer, at 250g/m2. It combines our 18.5-micron responsibly sourced Merino and recycled polyester technical fibers in a remarkable construction that positions the polyester next to your skin for maximum wicking while the wool faces out for superior insulation. With its Long sleeves it is the ideal garment to layer beneath one of our AmFIB® jackets. Thumb loops keep the sleeves in place as you pull on your jersey.
You’ve never worn a Merino base layer like this. We use a unique fabric construction method to place polyester fibers against your skin to improve wicking and Merino facing the jersey for temperature regulation and odor control. The 18.5-micron Merino is responsibly sourced while the polyester is spun from recycled water bottles. The polyester also increases the base layer’s durability. The short sleeves feature a set-in construction for a versatile next-to-skin form fit.
The key to staying comfortable on cold days is staying dry. We used a construction method called plating to place recycled polyester technical fibers next to skin on our responsibly sourced Merino wool, long-sleeve base layer. By putting polyester next to the rider's skin, it transports moisture away to the Merino layer where it can evaporate even as the wool acts as insulation. The base layer uses a set-in sleeve design for a versatile form-following fit to make layering easy.
